Rebecca A. Bowman, Esq., P.E. is the 36-year principal of a woman-owned business in forensic civil engineering, dispute resolution, real estate, and legal services. She is a registered professional engineer, licensed attorney, and a certified arbitrator, mediator, and Christian conciliator.   She received her B.S. degree in civil engineering from the University of North Dakota, her M.B.A. degree from Oklahoma University, and her J.D. degree from Duquesne University. Mrs. Bowman recently joined the National Society of Professional Engineers as the Senior Director for Ethics and Professional Practice.  She also serves as the Executive Director for the National Academy of Forensic Engineers.

Kodi Verhalen is a Partner in Taft’s Energy practice group. Kodi’s practice focuses her practice on a wide variety of electric and natural gas regulatory and transactional matters. In addition to her energy practice, Kodi represents a variety of clients on a wide range of environmental matters. In both her energy and environmental work, Kodi often draws upon her technical understanding gained during her experience as a professional engineer (Minnesota). From 2016 – 2017, Kodi served as president of the National Society of Professional Engineers and is currently vice-chair of the Discover Engineering (also known as DiscoverE) organization. Clients rely on Kodi’s broad experience in energy, engineering, and environmental matters at the federal, state, and local levels. She regularly presents on various topics, including natural resource law issues, environmental liability in real estate transactions, and ethics related to professional engineering licensure.
